A progressive approach to industrial supplies
The SB Simpson name has been synonymous with uncompromising quality, integrity, and reliability for more than 50 years. By combining sound family management with a progressive response to the growing industrial supply needs of the Golden Horseshoe area, SB Simpson has grown steadily from modest beginnings to a full-service industrial supply distributor.
In January 1960, our founders Stewart B. Simpson and his wife Maxine commenced sales from the basement of their home in Aldershot, Ontario. Stew Simpson brought a sales background in saws and cutting tools to his fledgling venture, and the addition of other industrial and general product lines soon attracted a widening clientele.
Within five years, the business’ growth warranted relocation to larger quarters and became one of the first occupants of Burlington's Progress Industrial Park. Initially without even street access, the original 1,200 square-foot building was erected in 1965 and has since been extended several times.
Expanding our industrial supply services across Ontario
The company's reputation for service was further enhanced with the opening of the Mississauga branch in 1977 and the acquisition of the Oakville location in 1986. By the 1990s, new SB Simpson locations were acquired in Oshawa, Stratford, and Owen Sound.
In more recent years, SB Simpson has grown with additional acquisitions in Peterborough, Brampton, and Montreal. Our customer base, too, has expanded to include valued customers from industrial, commercial, and institutional organizations, all seeking a virtually unlimited selection of quality industrial products including maintenance and production supplies and tools, motion control components, and automation systems.
Our company has grown steadily to become one of Canada’s most respected full-service general line industrial distributors in Southern Ontario. There’s a good reason why: we’ve never lost touch with our roots or our purpose for being in business.
SB Simpson continues to flourish under the ownership and guidance of the Simpson family, along with a qualified management team that leads a total workforce of over 90 capable employees. They are assisted by complex computer monitoring that co-ordinates the flow of stock from SB Simpson’s network of warehouses and distribution centres to markets throughout Southern Ontario.
